UBI

Program overview
We're intrigued by the crescendo around UBI, particularly in view of AI threatening to kill all the jobs. The purpose of this Program is to dig into the topic, and deepen our collective understanding.

We're embarking on a project of pamphlet writing, podcast production, media critique and community forum creation. Through this process, we may trend towards affirmation of our initial biases, or suasion away from them. Here's our Gracie pledge to you: we'll debate any published author to uncover the real story.

Our strategy for "being right" is simple: just seek truth. If you're right, then something magic happens: we adopt your position. We're persuaded! Through direct challenge, we can reach the edge of human understanding together.

Platform
Green acres

Naval once described UBI as "voting yourself money". We agree. This election, politicians promise 1k/month. Next election it rises to 2k, and keeps bidding up until the system goes bankrupt.

The focus must remain on decentralization. One idea is for robots to make country living sexy again. Robotic cars can cheaply shuttle you back the city. Robots can also automate the gnarliest chores on small farms. In a broad country like America, we needn't think only in terms of cubicle offices and studio apartments.

This is just one decentralized scenario out of many. Robots can simplify the incorporation and construction of entirely new cities, rising from the dirt. Towning can once again become a viable profession for founders.

Our general take is that UBI, the prototype of which we witnessed through COVID, just tries to prolong the agony of our current broken society. Instead, automation should empower a corresponding social revolution. The deficit is imaginative, not financial.

Pamphlets
Investigating a title exploring hazards of UBI, and AI's promise of tabula rasa. Upon publication, it will be available via Amazon Kindle and Apple iBooks.

When the time is right, we'll stand up some online fora to unlock dialog among audience members. Links will be listed here. We may invest in Discord, or something more decentralized.
